In August 2020, Joe – our commercial director – attended a virtual meeting with Robert Jenrick (Secretary of State for Housing), and a number of other leaders within the UK PropTech scene.
The roundtable focussed on how the government is planning on supporting the PropTech industry, and enabling players in the sector to lead the way in revolutionising the development industry.
We welcome this! We have a few questions, however:
- How can the Government better foster real, deep and meaningful collaboration between the private sector and the public sector?
- How can the Government push resources into tech solutions for Local Plan making, rather than just Development Control and Applicants?
- How can the Government better support the better accumulation and dissemination of data that can power Proptech solutions?
- Where is the Government funding to help already overstretched and underfunded Local Planning Authorities with adoption of digital solutions?
