PlaceMaker is a digital cloud-based platform carefully co-designed with planners to enable local authorities to manage their local plan-making activities in a single place – in real-time! As we continue to make significant changes to the way local authorities design, develop and consult on their local plans, we’re excited to be working with some exciting new clients. Some of these new projects include working with Gateshead Council, Newcastle City Council and the London Borough of Redbridge.
Speaking to Anneliese Hutchinson, Service Director at Gateshead Council, she said “We are looking forward to using the PlaceMaker tool to help digitise our Local Plan evidence base. This innovative solution will help transform the way planning officers can engage with the local community and make decisions about the development potential of sites in Gateshead”.
This new game changing solution was developed in partnership with London Borough of Hounslow, who have already seen the benefits of working with us. Danalee Edmund, Head of Spatial Planning, said “The UI Sites Database has provided invaluable support to planning officers when making decisions about the development potential of identified sites.” Hounslow has recently won the award for Use of Digital Technology in Planning at the Planning Awards 2022 for their Hounslow Assessment Database & Hounslow Intensification Tool which is powered by PlaceMaker and also makes use of the VU.CITY platform.
