Our Site Assessment tool is a new piece of software designed by planners for planners. It acts as the workstation for local government planners when they are assembling the evidence base for their local plan.

The Site Assessment tool works by taking a local authority’s own method of assessing sites and turning it into a geospatial algorithm to automate the initial site data collection, processing and analysis. This algorithm can then be run across every single registered (and unregistered if desired) piece of land in a given district, borough, city or even region. It is a revolutionary way of demonstrating that ‘no stone has been left unturned’ in the search for suitable land for development. The PlaceMaker suite can then become a central repository for local authority and other stakeholder comments, representations and files relating to each specific site. PlaceMaker can therefore enable a truly dynamic evidence base for decision making now and into the future.
