How can the policies for digitisation in the Planning Reform agenda lead to better planning services? Where are geospatial technologies being used to drive huge productivity gains?
In this interview with Andrew Knight, Global Data & Tech Lead with the the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Daniel Mohamed sets out how our PlaceMaker tool is being used by a number of authorities in England to radically improve their planning services.
Starting with his own background as a planning policy officer working in a local authority, Daniel shares some of the challenges and opportunities he has observed in the sector since founding Urban Intelligence back in 2014. He explains how central government policy reform combined with investment appetite have now created an ideal environment for the embrace of the data and technology revolution within the planning process. He also provides examples of the gains that the councils leading the charge are already benefitting from.
