Urban Intelligence is proud to announce its sponsorship of 10 ‘rising star’ places for young planning officers to attend the Planning Officers Society (POS) Annual Conference at The Sage, Gateshead on 15th and 16th June 2023. Although some applications have been approved already there is still time to apply. Applications will finally shut at midnight on Tuesday 6th June.

The POS Conference is a highly anticipated annual gathering that brings together planning professionals from across the country to share insights, discuss emerging trends, and explore innovative approaches to planning and development within the public sector. Recognising the importance of fostering talent and supporting the next generation of planning officers, Urban Intelligence is committed to providing younger professionals with opportunities to engage with industry leaders and share their perspectives while gaining invaluable knowledge and experience.

“We are thrilled to support the rising stars of the planning community by providing them with the opportunity to attend the Annual Planning Officer’s Society Conference where the cost of attendance may have otherwise prevented attendance and participation,” said Daniel Mohamed, CEO of Urban Intelligence. “By investing in young talent and encouraging their participation in industry-leading events like this, we aim to foster a vibrant and innovative planning community that can tackle the complex planning challenges of both today and the future.”

Anneliese Hutchinson, Planning Officers Society president said ‘We are really grateful to Urban Intelligence for their sponsorship of places for our rising stars. We are really keen to encourage as many as young planners as possible to attend.’

The sponsorship programme is open to local government planners with less than 10 years’ experience and who, in the view of their line manager, show “rising star potential”. These places will be awarded to planners who would not otherwise be able to attend the conference. Interested candidates have been encouraged to apply as early as possible but there are still a small number of spaces left.

More information on this year’s event and the bursary application form is available on the POS website: https://www.planningofficers.org.uk/events/annual-conference-2023
